Top 10 Movies in PH in October 2021

Another month had past and we are now again down to the lists of movies that made it into the Top 10 last month. Seems like everyone is preparing to set the Halloween mood as most of the movies included for last month’s Top 10 lists are more often than not, can give its viewers a good shriek.

If you have the courage and the stomach to watch last month’s Top 10 movies and would like to extend that Halloween vibe this November, then better to check out this list, grab a friend, get some popcorn, and have a great scare with these films.

#10 Ghostbusters (1984)

At Columbia University, professors Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, and Egon Spengler investigate the paranormal and conduct several unethical experiments on their students. As a result of being expelled from university, they have gained a thorough understanding of the paranormal and have decided to start their own company. Newly formed “Ghostbusters,” operating out of an old firehouse building, are called upon to clear New York City of any and all paranormal activity – for a fee, of course. The media says that the Ghostbusters are to blame for everything. The EPA has sentenced the mayor to prison, so he takes a risk and asks them for aid. Evo Shandor, a long-dead Gozer worshiper, built a downtown apartment complex that is the source of all the paranormal activity. A Hittite deity, Gozer, might rise again if the structure is destroyed, putting an end to all life on Earth.

Call, I mean watch now the original Ghostbusters films and join the gang averting this potentially catastrophic global catastrophe!

#9 Daredevil

He has lived virtually his entire life in the dark when a bizarre accident left the New York City lawyer, Matt Murdock, completely blind. Due to his newfound talents, Matt swears to fight for the helpless and right injustices in a fearless manner, all in the cause of fairness. Bullseye (the world’s most lethal hired assassin) and Elektra (the city’s new guardian) collide in a fortuitous meeting, bringing Matt face to face with the world’s deadliest killer-for hire.

Get that action-packed and suspense adventure with Marvel Comics’ superhero Daredevil, a masked avenger who patrols the New York City and Hells’ Kitchen to fight injustice he can’t address in court.

It’s a wild night in Los Angeles when a college student working as a part time chauffeur picks up two mysterious ladies and drives them around town. In the end, he has to battle to remain alive after discovering their bloodthirsty goals and their terrible, hidden underworld.

#7 Scream (1996)

Sidney Prescott and her pals began receiving weird phone calls a year after the death of her mother. In the end, they discovered that the calls were coming from an insane serial murderer who was searching for retribution in a huge black robe and a white-faced mask. The most common question he asks during phone conversations is, “What is your favorite horror movie?” There are an abundant horror movie trivia, which ends with gory fragments of innocent lives strewn over Woodsboro’s town.

#6 Spectre

This movie will awaken James Bond’s fans excitement as he discovers the existence of a nefarious organization known as SPECTRE after committing an unlawful killing. As M fights to keep the 00 section alive, Bond sets out on a personal mission to uncover the link between him and the group’s chief and disrupt their worldwide monitoring network.

#5 Halloween

It’s been 40 years since Laurie Strode fought off a psychotic murderer Michael Myers on Halloween night and escaped with her life. Isolated in an institution, Myers escapes after a disastrous bus transfer. The masked lunatic comes to Haddonfield, Ill., and Laurie is ready for him this time around. A continuation of Halloween 1978 movie, this film will make you think twice to celebrate a Halloween party.

#4 The Addams Family

Wonderin’ how vampires live before the Twilight movie era? Charles Addams’ cartoons come to life in the Addams family. For an affluent family, they have all of the macabre’s accoutrements, including a servant’s detached hand. An evil accountant and his loan shark round out the cast, with the shark’s kid posing as the family’s long-lost Uncle Fester in an elaborate ruse. Is the fake Fester able to get into the vault in time?

#3 The Guilty (2021)

On a single morning, a 911 dispatch call center provides the setting for the film. Joe Baylor, a call operator, attempts to help a caller in dire peril, but he quickly realizes that nothing is as it seems, and confronting the truth is the only way out.

#1 Venom

Landed on the top-most rank features one of the Marvel Comics characters, Venom. Famous journalist and reporter Eddie Brock is known for following persons who do not like being followed. He discovers the Life Foundation and loses his whole career in an effort to investigate the foundation’s alleged misdeeds. Eddie is taken back to the foundation six months later by one of the foundation’s main scientists, but he encounters an extraterrestrial known as a Symbiote during his return. Venom, the symbiote, chooses to connect and assimilate to Eddie’s body, but Carlton Drake, the head of the Life Foundation, is not happy about this. Venom/Eddie must to stop Drake from completing his goal to transform all humans into complete Symbiotes by using his invading troops.
